High school students must live on campus or with their families. The convenience of being near the libraries, computer center and other academic facilities, along with the social and educational opportunities afforded by residential living, contributes to the total value of the summer program. Staff thoroughly familiar with Boston College programs and resources is in residence and are capable of responding to most of the students' needs. At the same time the student is given the freedom and responsibility to establish his/her own priorities and to manage his/her time accordingly.
Furnishings in student rooms include a desk, chair, chest of drawers, closet, and bed. Students are responsible for bringing their own linens and for housing within the room. Fans, microwaves, refrigerators, clothes hangers, wastebasket, and blankets are not provided. Students are responsbile for leaving the room in the same condition in which they originally found it or be subject to damage or a trash removal fine. No animals or pets of any kind are allowed within the residence halls. All buildings at Boston College, including the residence halls, are smoke free.
The BCE Program is housed exclusively in the College Road area of campus. College Road consists of three, four-storied residence halls that house approxiately 175 students each are are directly across the street from McElroy Commons and the Campus Green (read below for more information).
Housing applications will be available through AGORA portal beginning April 21, 2009. Upon registration and payment for courses you will receive your BC Username and Password which is required to access the application. Once your summer housing application has been submitted and accepted, all fees will be charged directly to your student account. We will e-mail you a confirmation once we accept your application. Due to limited space, applications will be honored on a first-come, first serve basis. If you have any questions, please contact us at bcep.housing@bc.edu.

College Road Residence Halls
College Road consists of traditional, four-storied residence halls with double and triple occupancy rooms. Boston College Experience Program residents will be housed in Welch Hall (females) and Williams Hall (males) (Note: a BC Username and Password is required to access these floorplans). Combination secured bathrooms and showers are located on each floor. The facilities also include vending areas, and laundry rooms that accept both the Eagle-One Card or coins. Both buildings are non-airconditioned and are only occupied by the BCEP Program. Although located in a safe neighborhood there is a Boston College Police Officer on the Upper Campus each night of the program for added safety.

Check-In / Check-Out
Check-in will take place in Welch Hall on Saturday, June 27 & Sunday, June 28 between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Individuals will not be permitted access to their summer housing assignment before June 27. Individuals who find it necessary to arrive prior to this date or leave later than the official check-out may apply to stay in the Summer Guest House. Individuals that cannot arrive within the scheduled check-in period must email summer@bc.edu at least one week prior to check-in.
Check-out will take place anytime before Saturday, August 8th at 12:00 PM.
Parents or family wishing to check their student out for the weekend must complete and fax the sign-out form 48 hours prior to the student's departure. The form requires a parent signature and contact information for the person who will be responsible for the student during their time away from Boston College.

Dining Facilities
All meals are provided by Boston College Dining Services. All dining facilities provide wide variety of selections to suite individual needs. There is not a summer meal plan available, however you may find it convenient to add Dining and/or Eagle Bucks to your Eagle-One Card account through AGORA. You will receive your AGORA log-in cridentials upon check-in. For budgeting purposes $700 has proven adequate for meal costs.

Recreation Facilities
The William J. Flynn Recreation Complex is the focal point for athletic activities and recreation. The recreation complex contains: 1/8 mile track, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, racquetball and squash courts, 25 yard lap pool, diving pool, heated spa, changing rooms and saunas. There is also have an outdoor patio with tables, chairs and lounge chairs for sunbathing. The fitness area includes a wide variety of aerobic and resistance equipment. There are over 75 aerobic machines, 25 Nautilus and Body Master strength-training machines and free weights. There are fitness trainers on staff that can help you with your fitness program. Enjoying these facilities with those who share similar academic interests adds another dimension to summer study.

Duck Tour/Museum of Science
BCEP students will get acquainted with the best that Boston has to offer via one of the cities and oldest and most acclaimed tour agencies: the Boston Duck Tour. After seeing the sights, students will enjoy an afternoon in one of Boston’s most fun and interactive museums - the Museum of Science. See below links for more information:

Beach Excursion
Students will enjoy a day in the sun at one of the East Coast’s premier summer getaways: Newport, RI. In addition to pristine beaches, students will have the opportunity to embark on cliff walk and gaze at some of the historical mansions that came to fruition during Newport’s gilded age. Of course, there is a wide variety of shopping and dining opportunities to suit anyone’s taste in historic downtown Newport. Transportation to and from Newport is provided.
Six Flags New England
What would a summer be like without attending one of New England’s leading tourist attractions? Six Flags New England offers BCEP students both access to a world class theme park and a water park, granting the best of both worlds to our students. Fenway Tour/Aquarium
BCEP residents will get a sneak peak at the Nation’s oldest and most famous ball park, Fenway. Whether or not you are a member of “Red Sox Nation” a summer is not complete without a visit to Fenway. In addition, students will then be able to go and visit the penguins at the New England Aquarium, a global leader in ocean exploration and marine conservation. For more information see below:

Despite the fact that BCEP students will be living on Boston College’s campus throughout the summer, BC is just of many great academic institutions in the greater Boston area. Every week an official tour of one of the regions campuses will be organized, allowing students the opportunity to see what other schools Boston has to offer (BU, Tufts, Harvard, Northeastern, and more!).

Social Regulations
As members of the Boston College summer community, you are expected to abide by guidelines and requirements geared to protect the health and safety of all participants. Please review the Safety and Security Policies before check-in. Learning to become a responsible member of the community is part of what students gain from the Boston College Experience. Independent activity and responsibility to the group are factors in the college experience.
Students are expected to be in their residence hall by 11: PM Sunday - Thursday and 12:00 AM Friday and Saturday. The use of alcohol and drugs is prohibited. Infractions may result in dismissal. Students are not allowed to bring motor vehicles to campus. Counselors and advisors are available to talk with students about their problems or concerns.
