Reflection allows students to give meaning to their experiences is a focus of SLP
- During their second semester freshman year, students are placed at one of four service organizations in Boston for six hours per month. Weekly reflection enables students to engage in conversation about their placement experience and put it in a broader context.
- Reflection seminars are organized throughout the year to introduce Ignatian meditation concepts such as the examen while prompting students to look inward.
- Each Shaw class partners with a service organization and executes a year-long project during their sophomore year. Twice monthly reflection again provides an opportunity to put individual service experiences into more general themes.
