Welcome to Boston College's premier leadership program. Over the past 15 years the Shaw House on Upper Campus has been the home of BC's only four year leadership program. We combine elements of leadership education, service in Boston, and student discernment into a fantastic freshman year.
The first year experience as part of Shaw is the most intensive. We hold weekly Monday night meetings hosting campus administrators, faculty, and other student leaders. Each month is punctuated by a service day initially planned by council members but eventually handed down to freshman class groups within Shaw. Social events take place throughout the calender to connect upperclassmen with the incoming class.
As upperclassmen, involvement in the program is less demanding but still plays an active role in on-campus lives. Shaw's mentoring program pairs upperclassmen with incoming freshmen early in the year to foster a bond that continues far beyond the house, the program, and graduation. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors also have the opportunity to join the Shaw Council. Please see our Membership Page to meet our current members and officers.
