Safety and Security:

Safety and security of utmost concern and everyone's responsibility at Boston College. We want to ensure that your room/suite/apartment is as safe as possible. Please note: Candles, incense, and other sources of open flame; torchière style-halogen lights and lamps; two-prong extension cords; and personal mattresses and foam mattress pads will be confiscated and discarded without compensation to the owner. For more information, visit our Fire Safety and Security page.

Personal Property Insurance:

Boston College does not insure student property or assume liability for student possessions. To that end, students should ensure their property on campus is covered using a plan specifically designed for Student Personal Property theft or damage. Boston College has located one such company, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., that is listed on the Res Life website regarding Student Personal Property insurance. Accidental damage and water damage is included so if flooding occurs as a result of sprinklers going off, pipes freezing, or a water bottle spills on a laptop, all damage is covered. For more information, visit our Personal Property Insurance page.

Please Note: Piece by Piece Storage is the only storage company authorized by Boston College to be on campus. Therefore, any business done with other companies cannot be guaranteed, nor will other companies be permitted to come onto campus during move-in/move-out.
