Throughout their four year experience, Shaw Leaders are provided with opportunities to be attentive through varied interactions with the community around them.
- Living in the Shaw House with fellow program participants during their first year at Boston College gives students the opportunity to live in community with a diverse group. They gain insight into different perspectives through casual conversation and discussion.
- Discussions as well as an emphasis on awareness are both prioritized in formal Monday night seminars. Through leadership activities and outside speakers, students learn from others and each other about challenges facing the world and what they can to do to make a difference.
- Service in the greater Boston area is a significant piece of SLP. Helping others through hands on experiences pushes students to “be men and women for others.”
