Basic Steps of the Application Process:

Step 1:  Complete the 2017-2018 Housing Application online through the My ResLife link on the Agora Portal.  Be sure to complete the Housing Intent and the Residency Agreement pages within the application.

Step 2:  If you are interested in applying to one of our Living & Learning Communities: be sure to complete the appropriate pages within the same Housing Application.

Step 3:  If you have a medical condition, psychological or physical disability that you would like to request specific accommodations for, you must follow all the instructions and submit all medical documentation as specified in the Need Based Housing Accommodation page within the Housing Application.  Applicants must also schedule an appointment to meet with Noor Ibrahim, Assistant Director for Housing Assignments; contact our office to schedule an appointment by calling 617-552-4725 no later than Friday, February 10, 2017.

Please note that declaring your intent is required, but it is not enough to guarantee your housing assignment.  In order to secure a housing assignment for the fall semester, you must register for final selection or select a room as part of a group.  If you declare your intent and do not complete either of those processes, your housing will be forfeited.

Housing Eligibility:

Students must meet the following criteria to participate in the Room Selection Process:

  • Students must have a guaranteed year of housing for the 2017-18 academic year
  • Students must be full-time matriculating day students (College of Advancing Studies students, students on a leave of absence, or other students who are not currently enrolled are not eligible to participate)
  • Students must be free of any sanctions from the Office of Residential Life and the Office of the Dean of Students
  • Students must be free of any outstanding obligations on their student account

If a student meets the above criteria, they must complete a Housing Application to request housing for the 2017-18 academic year. After completing the Housing Application, in order to guarantee a space on campus, the student must register and select a room as part of a group, or register for Final Selection.

If an eligible student has not completed the necessary steps in the room selection process, they are no longer guaranteed housing and must complete an appeal for housing via Agora. These students will receive housing on a space-available basis.

Students who are administratively placed will be assigned to an accommodation during the month of August. These assignments are not subject to review or change.  Medical and extreme personal circumstances will be reviewed on an individual basis by the Office of Residential Life.

Visit our Policies Page for more information on eligibility.

Incoming First Year Students:

Incoming first-year students are not assigned on-campus housing through this process.  If you are an incoming first-year student, your housing assignment and roommate information will be communicated during the first week in August.
