May 18 - 29, 2018
This May, our Outdoor Adventures program is going to Iceland!
Iceland is a land forged from fire and water. Located at the seam where two tectonic plates are separating, Iceland has a geomorphology like nowhere else on Earth. Our adventure expedition will explore this dynamic and exciting environment. This will be a trip that will give opportunities for cultural and personal growth, as well as student formation. The trip will start out horse packing through the spectacular terrain of central Iceland. The horse is critical to the character and spirit of Iceland’s people, this is a chance to see the country the way it was meant to be seen. Then we will backpack up into the mountains. These rugged peak are rumored to be the homes of trolls and they have a spirit like no place on Earth.

July 13 - 24, 2018
Outdoor Adventures is running a 12 day multi-sport Alaska expedition this summer, July 13 - 24. This will be a life changing opportunity for you to experience wilderness first hand in a way that is not possible anywhere else on earth. You will come away with a new appreciation of the awesome power and fragile nature of life on our planet and will have the chance to experience something totally unique.
In the spring semester, we will have a series of meeting to let everyone get to know each other and become comfortable with all the logistics and requirements for the trip. No experience is needed, but students must be able to swim and have a sense of adventure.
Everyone will meet at BC and get a shuttle to Logan where you will fly to Anchorage Alaska. Once in the 49th state, we will spend 12 days kayaking, rafting, backpacking, camping, and exploring this amazing location. We will be camping in a variety of locations some will be campgrounds with access to bathrooms and showers while others are remote wilderness camps with nothing around for miles.
Registration is available at recconnect.bc.edu. This trip is listed under "Summer 2018."
