Josh is a junior in Boston College’s School of Arts and Sciences. He’s been competitively swimming for over 14 years and is currently a member of the Men’s Varsity Swim Team here at BC. He enjoys the sport of swimming and is enthusiastic towards helping others improve their aquatic ability.

Sean is a junior pursuing a major in International Studies and minors in Chinese and History. He is an American Red Cross certified lifeguard and swim instructor. Originally from Pasadena, CA, Sean has over 12 years of competitive water polo experience and is also a member of the Boston College Men’s Club Water Polo team. He has worked at the Flynn Recreation Complex for the last 2 years and is enthusiastic about helping new swimmers improve their technique and comfort in the water.

Jillian is a senior at Boston College studying Education and History with a minor in Special Education. She is originally from Rochester, NY where she has worked as a camp counselor, lifeguard and swim teacher and has experience with all ages and levels of swimmers. As an education major, she has been able to refine her skills working with students with special needs as well as treating all students with respect and integrity. From all of her experience working with children in and out of the pool, she has a variety of techniques to ensure children are safe in and around the pool. Being certified as a lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor has helped Jillian realize her passion for teaching as she can see firsthand her students grasp concepts. Jillian can’t wait to continue her passion for teaching in the pool.

Estelle is a senior studying biology at Boston College. She is an American Red Cross certified swim instructor. She swam competitively on a club team based out of Harvard for over 10 years, and she also swam varsity for her high school team. She began teaching over 4 years ago at MIT, helping both children and adults develop their comfort level and swimming skills in the water. She can't wait to continue teaching for her fourth year at BC, and is excited to pass on her knowledge and excitement to swimmers of all levels.

Gabriela is a senior here at Boston College. She is majoring in International Studies with a concentration in Economics and a minor in History. She has taught swim lessons her entire time at BC. She loves working with all age groups and swimming abilities. Her experience on a competitive swim team from elementary school up to the end of high school gave her the ability to technique refinement as well as endurance training. In her summers she has served as aquatic director at summer camps and given her lots of experience with kids from ages 2-14. Gabriela is Red Cross first aid and lifeguard certified as well as water safety instructor certified. She has taught swim lessons in her home in Long Island since she was 16.

Taylor is a junior in CSOM pursuing a BS in Management with concentrations in Finance and Corporate Reporting & Analysis as well as minors in Mathematics and History. Taylor hails from Yorktown Heights, New York and has been swimming since he was six. Before college, Taylor swam year-round competitively for nine years. Since arriving on The Heights Taylor has competed for the Men’s Club Water Polo team and now serves as a team officer. Taylor is a Red Cross certified Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor. Additionally, Taylor spent the summer after his freshmen as an Assistant Swim Coach for his local recreational team. Taylor very much looks forward to sharing his love and enthusiasm for swimming with all who are seeking lessons!

Neil is a junior in the Carroll School of Management, studying Finance with a minor in Applied Psychology & Human Development. Originally from Long Island, NY, he swam on his high school's Varsity swim team, as well as a club team throughout high school. At BC, he is a member of the men's club water polo team. Neil has worked as a lifeguard for over three years and a swim coach for a summer league on Long Island. He is excited to help new and experienced swimmers become more comfortable moving through the water and develop proficiency in their stroke.

Brenna is a senior at Boston College studying Sociology and Education. This will be her fourth year working in the Plex Aquatics Department. Brenna has been instructing swim lessons for all ages and ability levels for 5 years. During the summer, Brenna is a unit director at a YMCA residential summer camp in Upstate New York. This year, she is excited to work with swimmers to help develop confidence and ability in the water. Brenna's focus is on personal growth for each swimmer in a safe, fun environment.

Cole is a rising junior in the Carroll School of Management studying Finance and Marketing. He is a member of the Swimming and Diving team and currently holds Boston College school records in the one-meter, three-meter, and platform diving events. He’s experienced in teaching all age and skill levels from beginner to advanced and has been coaching for a year at BC and Charles River Diving Club.

Jeff is a freshman this year at Boston College. He is from Orange County, California and will be studying Political Science in the Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences at Boston College. Jeff has been swimming since he was 3-years-old and is finishing up his first year of teaching lessons. He is energetic, friendly and hardworking. He wants to work diligently to help kids learn how to swim and be safe around the water at all times. He looks forward to meeting you and cannot wait to begin swim lessons!

Paige is a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences studying Psychology and Hispanic Studies. This is her second semester working at the plex pool. She is originally from New Jersey, where she worked as a lifeguard, swim instructor, and teaching assistant at the Goddard School for Early Childhood Development. Paige has tons of experience working with children and loves to help young swimmers become more comfortable and safe in and around the pool as well as to help older swimmers refine their skills.

Sam is a sophomore at Boston College studying biology. Originally from East Windsor, CT, she began swim lessons herself at age 5 and has gone on to get her American Red Cross Lifeguarding and Water Safety Instructor certifications. She has lifeguarded for four years, and has taught swim lessons both as an assistant and head teacher for the past three. Sam has experience teaching a wide age range – infants as young as six months to adults – and also has worked with swimmers with special needs to get them comfortable and safe in (and around!) the water. Come join her in the pool, she can’t wait to meet all those looking to improve their skills!

Josh is freshman originally from Danvers, MA studying Political Science and Elementary Education at BC. He has been swimming competitively for 9 years, and captained his high school team his senior year. He has been teaching swimming to kids of all ages, from 3 to 16, for the past 4 years, and holds certifications in lifeguarding and swim instruction. He has experience in all levels of stroke development, from first time swimmers to competitive swimmers, as well working with children with special needs. Josh looks forward to helping young swimmers improve in their abilities and techniques.

Kaitlyn is a sophomore in the Connell School of Nursing at Boston College, and is pursuing a minor in Hispanic Studies. She grew up learning to swim and swimming competitively for many years at a private pool club in her hometown of Glastonbury, Connecticut. In the summer she is the assistant head instructor of the swimming program at a beach club in Groton, Connecticut, where she recently received an employee appreciation and recognition award. She is very excited to join the BC Aquatics staff this year, bringing 5 years of experience in teaching and helping kids of all ages come to share her love for the water!

Sydney is a freshman in Boston College's Connell School of Nursing. She is certified as both an American Red Cross lifeguard and swim instructor. Sydney has been teaching swim lessons for almost three years and is experienced with children of all ages and abilities. Sydney has been swimming on a competitive swim team since she was six years old and loves to share her passion for swimming with both new and experienced swimmers. She believes swimming is an important life skill and wishes to help new swimmers feel more comfortable in and around the water.

Alison is a Junior at Boston College, studying Spanish and Islamic Civilizations and Societies with a focus on Arabic, and minoring in Hispanic Studies. She lives in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and has been swimming her whole life. She has been teaching swimming lessons for four years at summer camps and beach clubs in New Hampshire.
Alison is a certified Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard, and is certified to teach all ages and swim abilities. Alison loves to teach swimming because she believes it is such an empowering life skill. She feels fortunate to be able to teach swimming and make an impact on others’ lives.

Emily is a junior pursuing a major in Political Science with a minor in Philosophy in Boston College's Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, she has experience working there as a lifeguard, and she is an American Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructor. Emily has enjoyed swimming since early childhood and is excited to be able to share this love of swimming, comfort in the water, and skill development with new swimmers.
