Paige is a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences studying Psychology and Hispanic Studies. This is her fourth working at the plex pool. She is originally from New Jersey, where she worked as a lifeguard, swim instructor, and teaching assistant at the Goddard School for Early Childhood Development. Paige has tons of experience working with children and loves to help young swimmers become more comfortable and safe in and around the pool as well as to help older swimmers refine their skills.

Kaitlyn is a junior in the Connell School of Nursing at Boston College. She grew up learning to swim and swimming competitively for many years at a private swim club in her hometown of Glastonbury, Connecticut. She holds swim coach certification from Swim America, and worked as an instructor at a beach club for 5 years prior to joining the BC Aquatics staff last October. Kaitlyn is excited to continue helping kids of all ages come to share her love for the water!

Sydney is a sophomore in Boston College's Connell School of Nursing. She is certified as both an American Red Cross lifeguard and swim instructor. Sydney has been teaching swim lessons for four years and is experienced with children of all ages and abilities as well as adults. Sydney has been swimming on a competitive swim team since she was six years old and loves to share her passion for swimming with both new and experienced swimmers. She believes swimming is an important life skill and wishes to help new swimmers feel more comfortable in and around the water.

Emily is a senior pursuing a major in Political Science with a minor in Philosophy in Boston College's Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, she has experience working there as a lifeguard, and she is an American Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructor. Emily has enjoyed swimming since early childhood and is excited to be able to share this love of swimming, comfort in the water, and skill development with new swimmers.

Sam is a junior at Boston College studying biology. Originally from East Windsor, CT, she began swim lessons herself at age 5 and has gone on to get her American Red Cross Lifeguarding and Water Safety Instructor certifications. She has lifeguarded for five years, and has taught swim lessons both as an assistant and head teacher for the past four. Sam has experience teaching a wide age range – infants as young as six months to adults – and also has worked with swimmers with special needs to get them comfortable and safe in (and around!) the water. Come join her in the pool, she can’t wait to meet all those looking to improve their skills!

Sean is a senior pursuing a major in International Studies and minors in Chinese and History. He is an American Red Cross certified lifeguard and swim instructor. Originally from Pasadena, CA, Sean has over 13 years of competitive water polo experience and is also a member of the Boston College Men’s Club Water Polo team. He has worked at the Flynn Recreation Complex for the last 3 years and is enthusiastic about helping new swimmers improve their technique and comfort in the water.

Josh is a sophomore originally from Danvers, MA studying Political Science, music, and education at BC. He has been swimming competitively for 9 years and captained his high school team his senior year. He has been teaching swimming to children and adults of all ages for the past 6 years and holds certifications in lifeguarding and swim instruction. He has experience in all levels of stroke development from first time swimmers to competitive swimmers, as well as experience working with children with special needs. Josh looks forward to helping young swimmers improve in their abilities and techniques.

Erica is a junior at Boston College double majoring in Economics and Spanish. She has been working in Aquatics at BC since freshman year, and also works as a Facility Supervisor, Personal Trainer, and Group Fitness Instructor at the Plex. Erica has lots of experience working with children of all ages through numerous years of babysitting and working as a camp counselor, and taught swim lessons at a summer camp for 3 years. She strives to help newer swimmers become comfortable and confident in the water, and aims to create a fun, upbeat atmosphere in every lesson.

Megan is a senior at BC majoring in English with a minor in Biology and is a member of the Varsity Swim Team. She started swimming competitively at age 10 and has continued her swimming career at Boston College. She taught swim lessons at the Plex this past summer and is looking forward to continue helping children become comfortable in the water and share her love for swimming!

Josh is a senior majoring in Economics. He is Red Cross certified as a lifeguard and swim instructor. Josh is passionate about swimming and has over 16 years of competitive swimming experience. Josh is a captain of the Men’s Swim team at Boston College and has taught at the Flynn Recreation Center for over a year. He enjoys teaching youth and helping them become comfortable in the water.

Neil is a senior in the Carroll School of Management, studying Information Systems with a minor in Applied Psychology & Human Development. Originally from Long Island, NY, he swam on his high school's Varsity swim team, as well as a club team throughout high school. At BC, he is a member of the men's club water polo team. Neil has been a lifeguard for over four years and was a swim coach for a summer league on Long Island. He is excited to help new and experienced swimmers become more comfortable moving through the water and develop proficiency in their stroke.

Jeff is currently a sophomore seeking a major in Political Science and a minor in Spanish. He is from Orange County, CA and has spent his life in and around swimming pools. He is an American Red Cross certified lifeguard and swim instructor. This will be the second year he has worked at the Flynn Recreation Complex at Boston College teaching private and semi-private swim lessons. The past two summers he has worked at a pool in California teaching group lessons and children of varying skill levels. He is an energetic and fun loving instructor who is dedicated to helping swimmers become comfortable in the water as well as improve their swimming technique and strength.

Margaret is a junior at Boston College who is originally from Shrewsbury, MA. She has worked as a certified lifeguard and swim instructor since she was 16 through Pompositticut Farm Day Camp and AquaMobile Swim School. For the past two summers, she has worked as the Aquatics Director at Pompositticut. She has been volunteering with children for as long as she can remember. She swam competitively throughout middle school and high school. She loves spending her summer days in the water, teaching, and swimming. She would love to teach you to love the water as much as she does.

Alison is a Senior at Boston College, studying Hispanic Studies and Islamic Civilizations and Societies with a focus on Arabic. She lives in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and has been swimming her whole life. She has been teaching swimming lessons for five years at summer camps and beach clubs in New Hampshire.
Alison is a certified Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard, and is certified to teach all ages and swim abilities. Alison loves to teach swimming because she believes it is such an empowering life skill. She feels fortunate to be able to teach swimming and make an impact on others’ lives.

Lauren is a rising sophomore at Boston College double majoring in political science and sociology. She is a Red Cross certified swim instructor and lifeguard. She has been teaching swim lessons and lifeguarding at a private pool on Cape Cod for 5 summers. Lauren is enthusiastic about improving students’ swimming skills.

Kelsey is a junior in the Carroll School of Management studying Accounting, with a minor in Philosophy. She grew up diving competitively on a private diving club in the South Shore of MA and assisted in coaching for the club for many years. In addition, she dove for the Varsity Diving Team at Boston College for two years. Kelsey has loved her experiences coaching and is looking forward to helping more young divers learn and grow in their abilities.
