Emily - Swim Instructor

Brighid

Availability: Mondays 3 - 4 pm, Wednesdays 3 - 8 pm, Fridays 2 - 4 pm, and Sundays 12 - 4pm

Brighid is a rising senior at Boston College majoring in International Studies with a concentration in Political Science and a minor in Economics. She began swimming on a team in elementary school and continued into high school and is a current member of the BC Women's Club Water Polo Team. She has taught swim lessons for four summers at a country club near her home in suburban Chicago. Brighid also has experience teaching children with special needs how to swim. She is excited to help more children become comfortable in the water and develop a love of swimming.

Corey - Swim Instructor

Corey

Availability: Mondays 4 - 7 pm, Tuesdays 4 - 5 pm, and Wednesdays 4 - 7 pm

Corey attends Boston College and competes on the Men's Club Water Polo team. He grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area where he first learned to swim and play water polo. Corey started swimming competitively on his local swim team at the age of seven and continues to swim today. He has taught swim lessons each summer for the past four years, to swimmers of all ages and experience levels. Corey especially enjoys surfing and spending time at the beach, and has a natural affinity to the water.

Hannah - Swim Instructor

Hannah

Availability: Mondays 3 - 7 pm, Tuesdays 3 - 5 pm, Wednesdays 3 - 6 pm, and Thursdays 3 - 5 pm

Hannah just graduated from Newton Country Day and will be attending Providence College this fall. Hannah spent her summers taking swimming lessons at Boston College and swam competitively on the Boston College Eaglets for eight years during the summer. Hannah was the captain of the Varsity Field Hockey and Ice Hockey team her senior year of high school.

Ian - Swim Instructor

Availability: Mondays 3 - 8 pm, Tuesdays 3 - 5 pm, Wednesdays 3 - 8 pm, Thursdays 3 - 5 pm, Fridays 2 - 8 pm, and Sundays 12 pm - 4 pm

Ian is from Glastonbury, CT and is currently a senior at Boston College studying Math. Ian has been competitively swimming since he was seven years old and currently plays on the Boston College Men’s Club Water Polo Team. He has been teaching lessons for the last three years at his local pool club. Ian loves to be around the water and help develop swimmers.

Kayla - Swim Instructor

Availability: Mondays 3 - 8 pm, Tuesdays 3 - 5 pm, Wednesdays 3 - 6 pm, Thursdays 3 - 5 pm, and Sundays 12 - 4 pm

Kayla is a rising senior at Boston College. She has experience lifeguarding and teaching private and group swim lessons to kids of all ages, as well as years of experience working with children. She has competed in two triathlons and is currently training to compete in her third. She is excited to spend the summer in Boston and have fun at the Plex pool!

Mary - Swim Instructor

Mary

Availability: Mondays 3 - 8 pm, Tuesdays 3 - 5 pm, Wednesdays 3 - 6 pm, Thursdays 3 - 5 pm, and Sundays 12 - 4 pm

Mary is a rising junior at the University of Rhode Island studying to be a nurse. She is on URI Women’s Rugby Team. Mary has been swimming competitively for 12 years. She was a four season varsity swimmer at Needham High School and was captain her senior year. Last summer she taught swimming lessons and coached the Eaglet’s swim team. Mary enjoys teaching swimming lessons and thinks it is a very important skill to have in life. This is Mary’s third summer teaching lesson.

Megan - Swim Instructor

Megan

Availability: Mondays 6 -8 pm, Fridays 2 -8 pm, and Sundays 2 - 4 pm

Megan is a rising senior at Boston College majoring in English with a minor in Biology and is a member of the Varsity Swim Team. She started swimming competitively at age 10 and continued to swim as a captain and varsity member of her high school swim team. She has continued her swimming career at BC where she will begin her final season in the fall. She taught swim lessons and coached her summer rec swim team throughout high school in the San Francisco Bay Area. Megan spends her free time at BC volunteering in classrooms where she can form lasting relationships with students. She is excited to help children become comfortable in the water and share her love for swimming!
