Jillian - Swim Instructor


Availability: Mondays & Wednesdays 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm and Tuesdays & Thursdays 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Aiden will be a sophomore at Providence College in the fall. He taught learn to swim classes and private lessons for the last three years and has also coached the Eaglets swim team. He has been a summer member of the Boston College Recreation Complex for a number of years prior to working there. He has been swimming competitively since the age of eight, and has worked diligently to improve his skills. He believes that swimming is a great skill to have and is useful for improving personal fitness. He is ready to work with you to help your child learn to swim or improve previous aquatic.

Carolyn - Swim Instructor


Availability: Mondays - Thursdays 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Carolyn is a rising senior in Boston College’s Lynch School of Education. She is an American Red Cross certified lifeguard and water safety instructor. She has been teaching swim lessons for over three years now. Carolyn enjoys seeing a child's face light up whenever they accomplish something new in the water. She strives to help every child feel safe in and around the water, as well as show them how much fun swimming can be.



Lauren - Swim Instructor


Availability: Mondays - Thursdays 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Hannah is a rising senior at Newton Country Day. Hannah took swimming lessons at Boston College when she was first learning how to swim and swam competitively on the Boston College Eaglets for eight years during the summer. Hannah plays Field Hockey, Ice Hockey, and rows Crew during the school year.


Josh - Swim Instructor


Availability: Mondays - Thursdays 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm; Fridays 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm; Saturdays 1:00 pm - 4 pm; and Sundays 12 pm - 4 pm

Josh is a rising junior in Boston College’s School of Arts and Sciences. He’s been competitively swimming for over 14 years and is currently a member of the Men’s Varsity Swim Team here at BC. He enjoys the sport of swimming and is enthusiastic towards helping others improve their aquatic ability.


Katie - Swim Instructor


Availability: Mondays and Wednesdays 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm and Fridays 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Katie graduated from Boston College in 2015 with a marketing major and psychology minor. She’s been swimming competitively for over 10 years and assistant coaching for five. She has also been teaching group and private lessons to kids of all ages 6 month-15 years as well as some adult lessons. Working with children has always been one of her passions, and she is very excited to return to the BC Plex teaching lessons and coaching the Eaglets Swim Team this summer!

Lauren - Swim Instructor


Availability: Mondays & Wednesdays 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm and Tuesdays & Thursdays 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Mary graduated from Needham High School 2104. She completed her freshman year at the University Of Rhode Island College Of Nursing. She was a part of the URI Women’s Rugby Team for the fall and spring seasons. Mary has been swimming competitively for 12 years. She was a four season varsity swimmer at Needham High School and was captain her senior year. Last summer she taught swimming lessons and coached the Eaglet’s swim team. Mary enjoys teaching swimming lessons and thinks it is a very important skill to have in life.  This is Mary’s second summer teaching lesson.


Matt - Swim Instructor


Availability: Tuesdays 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursdays 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 7:00pm - 8:00 pm, Fridays 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Saturdays 12:30 pm - 5:00 pm, and Sundays 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Matt graduated with the Boston College Class of 2015 with a degree in biochemistry. Originally from California, he has been swimming for over 10 years. He has swam competitively for four years and played water polo for eight years. He coached youth water polo and swimming for the past two summers and hopes to continue teaching at the BC Plex this summer.

Mike - Swim Instructor


Availability: Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm; and Sundays 12:00 pm - 4 pm

Mike is a second year MA student in the philosophy department. This is second year teaching swim lessons. He has taught lessons to children ages 3-12, water polo to youth and adult intro swimming. He is a native California who has swam for over 15 years and played water polo for over 10. He has been a lifeguard for 8 years. He plays water polo her on the BC club team. Previously he played at Fordham. He has played on masters teams in San Francisco, Buenos Aires, and San Antonio. He also enjoys masters swimming. 

Whitney - Swim Instructor


Availability: Sundays 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Whitney was on a swim team during her teenage years and continued swimming on the Simmons College Swim Team while obtaining her degree in Political Science. After college, Whitney continued with her love of swimming and joined Masters Swim at Boston College where she has been on the team for the past three years (while attending graduate school at Emerson College for a Masters degree in Multimedia Journalism).

Whitney has taught swim lessons during the summers at Boston College where she has also been a lifeguard for the past nine years. She is also assistant coach for the summer swim team the Boston College Eaglets. Whitney is also a competitive figure skater for the United States Figure Skating Association, the Ice Skating Institute, a skating coach for FMC Ice Sports, and a private skating coach.
