Amanda is a California native and has worked there as a swim instructor for the past 4 years. She has worked with students ranging in age from 3-15 years old and all with unique abilities and goals in the water. She has been working with kids in a variety of capacities at camps, swim lessons, and school programs for 6 years. She graduated from Boston College last year with a degree in secondary education and has returned this year to get a Masters of Education. In her free time, she enjoys training in and out of the water for triathlons, a sport she has enjoyed for the last 9 years.

Brighid is a rising senior at BC majoring in International Studies with a Concentration in Political Science and a minor in Economics. She began swimming on a team in elementary school and continued into high school and is a current member of the BC Women's Club Water Polo Team. Brighid has four years of teaching and one year of coaching. She is a certified lifeguard and also works at the Plex as an Aquatics Office Manager.

Cece is a sophomore in the Lynch School of Education studying Applied Psychology & Human Development and Communications. She is a member of the swimming and diving team at Boston College. During the past four summers, Cece has worked as a counselor and lifeguard for a summer camp. She loves working with kids and sharing her passion for diving with others.

Charlie is currently a sophomore studying economics with a minor in environmental studies. He is Red Cross certified as a lifeguard and has worked at the Flynn Recreation Complex since September 2016. A member of the varsity swim team, Charlie has spent the past fourteen years perfecting his swimming technique and ability. Charlie is passionate about swimming and enjoys teaching others to become comfortable and confident in the water at any age

Hope is a sophomore at Boston College double majoring in Elementary Education and Applied Psychology and Human Development. Hope swam competitively for seven years before becoming a member of BC’s varsity Women’s Swimming and Diving team. Hope is a summer swim team head coach at a community pool in her hometown, Charlotte, North Carolina, where she coaches, manages, and trains 120 swimmers ages 6 to 19. She has 3 years of experience teaching young swimmers ages 6-10, and 1 year of experience coaching swimmers 11 years and older. In addition, Hope has volunteered on numerous occasions to provide swim lessons to children and young adults with special needs. Hope’s two biggest passions are nurturing children and swimming, and she is excited to work with children of any age and skill level.

Jeff is currently a sophomore seeking a major in Political Science and a minor in Spanish. He is from Orange County, CA and has spent his life in and around swimming pools. He is an American Red Cross certified lifeguard and swim instructor. This will be the second year he has worked at the Flynn Recreation Complex at Boston College teaching private and semi-private swim lessons. The past two summers he has worked at a pool in California teaching group lessons and children of varying skill levels. He is an energetic and fun loving instructor who is dedicated to helping swimmers become comfortable in the water as well as improve their swimming technique and strength.

Josh is a sophomore originally from Danvers, MA studying Political Science, music, and education at BC. He has been swimming competitively for 9 years and captained his high school team his senior year. He has been teaching swimming to children and adults of all ages for the past 6 years and holds certifications in lifeguarding and swim instruction. He has experience in all levels of stroke development from first time swimmers to competitive swimmers, as well as experience working with children with special needs. Josh looks forward to helping young swimmers improve in their abilities and techniques.

Josh is a senior majoring in Economics. He is Red Cross certified as a lifeguard and swim instructor. Josh is passionate about swimming and has over 16 years of competitive swimming experience. Josh is a captain of the Men’s Swim team at Boston College and has taught at the Flynn Recreation Center for over a year. He enjoys teaching youth and helping them become comfortable in the water.

Kathryn is a sophomore majoring in International Studies, with a concentration in Political Science, and is minoring in Theater. She has been swimming competitively since childhood. She has lived all over the world from Moscow to Alabama, and many places in between, but has always managed to find a pool and keep swimming. Kathryn believes that swimming is not only a wonderful sport, but a life skill. She has a lot of experience with kids doing volunteer work at schools and working as a summer camp counselor. Kathryn is Red Cross First Aid and First Responder certified. She is excited to meet new swimmers and help them to learn to be safe, have fun, and develop strokes in the water.

Kelsey is a junior in the Carroll School of Management studying Accounting, with a minor in Philosophy. She grew up diving competitively on a private diving club in the South Shore of MA and assisted in coaching for the club for many years. In addition, she dove for the Varsity Diving Team at Boston College for two years. Kelsey has loved her experiences coaching and is looking forward to helping more young divers learn and grow in their abilities!

Lauren is a rising sophomore at Boston College double majoring in political science and sociology. She is a Red Cross certified swim instructor and lifeguard. She has been teaching swim lessons and lifeguarding at a private pool on Cape Cod for 5 summers. Lauren is enthusiastic about improving students’ swimming skills.

Margaret is a junior at Boston College from Shrewsbury, MA. She has worked as a certified lifeguard and swim instructor since she was 16 through Pompositticut Farm Day Camp and AquaMobile Swim School. For the past two summers, she worked as the Aquatics Director at Pompositticut. She has volunteered with children for years. Margaret has competitively swam throughout middle school and high school. She loves spending her summer days in the water, teaching and swimming! She would love to teach you to love the water as much as she does.

Margaret is a sophomore attending Boston College's Connell School of Nursing. She has competitively swam for seven years for a YMCA team and her hometown team in Great Neck, New York before joining the Women's Club Water Polo team at BC. She spent the last two summers working as a lifeguard and the head swim instructor of her community pool. As a Senior in high school she taught level 1 and level 3 swim classes for the Great Neck Community Center. Margaret is passionate about teaching children how to swim or how to improve their swimming and can't wait to offer her services!

Madeline is currently a freshmen in the Carroll School of Management studying finance with a minor in Spanish. She has worked as a certified swim instructor for almost 2 years in her hometown of Madison, WI. Madeline has taught all ages and levels including babies/toddlers, school age children, and adults. She taught senior water aerobics in the summers, which was one of her favorite classes. Outside of teaching swim lessons, Madeline works as a lifeguard at the Plex, tap dances with BC OnTap, and tutors elementary age students. Madeline loves teaching swim lessons because she finds it rewarding to watch people become stronger swimmers and learn such a valuable life skill.

Maria is a sophomore at Boston College double majoring in Applied Psychology & Human Development and Communications. Maria has over 14 years of competitive swimming experience and is a current member of the Varsity Swim Team. She has over 4 years of experience teaching lessons and coaching swimmers ages 2-15 in her hometown of Bedford, New York. Additionally, since her time at Boston College she has worked with swimmers with special needs on stroke technique and getting comfortable in the water. Maria is looking forward to working with youth to help them develop skills in the water and foster a passion for the sport of swimming.

Mary is a sophomore studying political science in the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences. MK swam competitively for 12 years before joining the Varsity Women's Swim Team at Boston College. She is both an American Red Cross Certified Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor. MK spent the last summer coaching swimming to 130 swimmers aged 5-18 at a country club in the Philadelphia Area. She also has taught private and group swim lessons for the past two summers to children aged 4-9. Before becoming a swim instructor, she worked as a camp counselor for middle school students. MK is eager to share her passion for swimming and looks forward to easing new swimmers into feeling comfortable and safe in the water.

Megan is a senior at BC majoring in English with a minor in Biology and is a member of the Varsity Swim Team. She started swimming competitively at age 10 and has continued her swimming career at Boston College. She taught swim lessons at the Plex this past summer and is looking forward to continuing to help children become comfortable in the water and share her love for swimming.

Neil is a senior in the Carroll School of Management, studying Information Systems with a minor in Applied Psychology & Human Development. Originally from Long Island, NY, he swam on his high school's Varsity swim team, as well as a club team throughout high school. At BC, he is a member of the men's club water polo team. Neil has been a lifeguard for over four years and was a swim coach for a summer league on Long Island. He is excited to help new and experienced swimmers become more comfortable moving through the water and develop proficiency in their stroke

Rebecca is a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences studying Sociology and Philosophy. She started swimming at the age of nine on a local swim team in her hometown and continued with them until she entered high school. She received her Lifeguard/CPR certification coming out of high school and has guarded at BC since the start of her freshman year. This is her first year teaching at the Plex but she loves working with younger kids as she has three younger siblings, the youngest of which is now her age when she started swimming. In the other free time she has at BC, she's dancing for both the Golden Eagles Dance Team and the latin dance team, Vida de Intensa Pasiòn. She looks forward to teaching because she enjoyed learning how to swim herself at such a young age.

Sean is a senior pursuing a major in International Studies and minors in Chinese and History. He is an American Red Cross certified lifeguard and swim instructor. Originally from Pasadena, CA, Sean has over 13 years of competitive water polo experience and is also a member of the Boston College Men’s Club Water Polo team. He has worked at the Flynn Recreation Complex for the last 3 years and is enthusiastic about helping new swimmers improve their technique and comfort in the water.

Sydney has been swimming on a competitive swim team since she was six years old and loves to share her passion for swimming with both new and experienced swimmers. She believes swimming is an important life skill and wishes to help new swimmers feel more comfortable in and around the water.
