Women's Water Polo
The Boston College Women's Club Water Polo Team competes in the New England Division of the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA). The team’s competition season is in the spring semester, although they do practice and scrimmage in the fall as well. In the fall, the team practices one to two times per week with about three scrimmages on various weekends, and in the spring they practice four times per week with three weekend-long league tournaments and a few scrimmages as well. The team roster is kept relatively small, with 14-16 people total, so sometimes cuts are made at the beginning of spring semester, depending on the number of girls trying out. However, no prior experience with water polo is necessary, and every year there are a few members of the team who are playing for the first time, and quickly learn to enjoy the sport and the team!
