The Boston College Club Figure Skating Team has two components: freestyle and synchronized skating, both of which compete through US Figure Skating. The Synchronized Skating team is a group of 8-20 skaters who skate and perform as one unit and generally compete in the Open Collegiate division. Tryouts are held early in the fall semester, and team practices begin shortly thereafter and continue through the end of February. They normally take place two times per week in the early morning hours in Conte Forum. The team competes at several local competitions as well as the Eastern Synchronized Skating Sectional Championships, where their goal is to qualify for the US Synchronized Skating National Championships. The team encourages everyone to try out for the synchronized team as no prior synchro experience is needed! Additionally, freestyle ice time is available at Conte Forum for students who are interested in competing in collegiate freestyle and dance competitions throughout the year.
