BC Student Missing in Pennsylvania, Found Dead
July 21, 2011 - Pennsylvania State Police have reported that Toochukwu "Tony" Nwokedi '13 was found dead near his home in Oil City, Pennsylvania on July 19. He was reported missing last Saturday, July 16. A cause of death has not yet been reported by state officials.
Nwokedi, 21, a political science major who aspired to become a lawyer, had taken a leave of absence from Boston College in the spring but had planned to return to classes in the fall.
Director of Campus Ministry Rev, Tony Penna, contacted the Nwokedi family to offer condolences on behalf of the University. His mother, Livna, has requested prayers from the BC community.
Residential Life administrators have contacted Nwokedi’s roommates to inform them of the death and to offer the resources of University Counseling and Campus Ministry.
Memorial and burial services will take place in his native Nigeria.
