John Ebel is an expert on earthquakes; seismology; climate changes; and the environment. He is Director of Boston College's Weston Observatory, which houses seismic instruments for the World-Wide Standardized Seismic Network (WWSSN) and for the New England Seismic Network. He is co-author of the recently published book Earthquakes and Tsunamis in the Past (Cambridge University Press, 2009).
