CHESTNUT, MA. (5-28-09) – The financial analyst who exposed Bernard Madoff's multi-billion Ponzi scheme will kick-off the two-day 2009 Center for Asset Management Conference, which takes place June 4 and 5 at Boston College.

In addition to finance industry watchdog Markopolos, speakers at the Carroll School of Management-sponsored conference will include former Freddie Mac CEO Richard Syron and Putnam Investments CEO Bob Reynolds, as well as officials from the Federal Reserve Board, the Securities and Exchange Commission and private firms.

Media are invited to attend these and other conference sessions. Details on the featured speaker events are as follows:

•    Harry Markopolos speaks at 6 p.m. Thursday June 4 in the Murray Room of the Yawkey Center, located on the main BC campus at 140 Commonwealth Ave., Chestnut Hill. His remarks are titled "Madoff & the Math that Uncovered the World’s Largest Ponzi Scheme."

•    Richard Syron, former chairman and CEO of Freddie Mac, delivers the keynote address at noon on Friday, June 5 at the Boston College Law School campus, 885 Centre Street, Newton, MA.

•    Putnam Investments CEO Robert Reynolds speaks at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 5 as one of the featured panelists discussing “Investment Vehicles: Who Should Be Regulated & How?” at the Boston College Law School campus, 885 Centre St., Newton, MA.
