Printer's Proof Stages

office of marketing communications

Once you have released your file to the printer, you will go through a number of proof stages, depending on the details of your job. For jobs including color images, you can generally anticipate two rounds of loose color proofs of just the images and a composite proof/blueline of the entire document. Types of proofs and numbers of proofs will depend on the details of your job. Your printer will generally provide you with a production schedule including proofs and press dates.

OMC strongly recommends that your final proof be reviewed by a professional proofreader. To find a proofreader, visit our editorial services page.
