Planning Your Project

office of marketing communications

Start by creating a production schedule. Good planning will help you meet your deadlines and will ensure that everyone involved in the project — including printers and mailhouses — has enough time to do the best job possible.

We have provided a template in PDF format (click on the link to the right) that includes all the steps involved in creating a typical publication. Work backwards from your delivery date, keeping in mind that weekend days do not count as working days. Remember to include enough time in your schedule for mailing, especially if you need your piece to be in your audience's hands by a certain date.
