Following a highly competitive and rigorous application/interview process, the IA Steering Committee has selected the incoming IA’s for the 2009-2010 academic year. The IA Program has been carried out for decades, and is a program that is most rewarding for all involved. The OISS and the IA Steering Committee extends a warm welcome and congratulations to the new International Assistants! We look forward to having you in our program, and to the many gifts you’ll bring to the relationships you build with BC international students.


On Thursday, April 16th the Office of AHANA Student Programs, along with many other co-sponsoring organizations and offices including OISS, hosted the annual World Fiesta Day. This event is known as the campus-wide international and intercultural event of BC and showcases over 30 offices, departments and student groups that reflect this aspect of the BC community and identity. The new International Club made its first appearance in World Fiesta and was featured in the Heights. Read the article.

International Students Graduation Reception
The Office of International Students and Scholars invites all to the Commencement Reception on Monday, May 18th 1:30-3:00pm in the Heights Room located in Corocoran Commons. We wish to congratulate all of our graduating students and wish them well in their future endeavors.

Learn what happens to your email and other computing services when you leave BC. Please remember to contact OISS with employer and personal address information if you are on OPT.

walk in Walk-in Hours Began Tuesday, April 21th. During the designated time slots, you will be able to get your immigration form signed immediately if you have all the required documents and forms completed. We hope that these hours will facilitate travel procedures for our international students and get answers to important questions.

The Graduate International Student Association (GISA)Are you interested in serving on the GISA Executive Board next year? If so, please contact Joy Galarneau (617 552-1851) for more information.

Graduate Appreciation Evening  A fun evening to show GISA and Grad AHANA appreciation for you efforts. There will be games, music, great conversation and Middle Eastern dinner. See Flyer

International Student Club: The purpose of the club will be to hold social events, educate about our countries, and work with OISS to make the international community at BC even stronger. If you are interated in being about of this initiative, reply to Patricia Lopez with any thoughts, suggestions and ideas.
