Service and Social Justice Opportunities

Many volunteer oppotunities for service are available through the Women's Resource Center. Please email us or stop into the center to find out more ways that you can get involved. Below you'll find some of the other organizations around Boston that provide service opportunities.

Casa Myrna Vasquez

An organization for battered women including two emergency shelters for women and their children, one adult transition living house, and one adolescent transition living house. Other programs include a post shelter program, a bilingual crisis hotline and a variety of education and training programs.

Rosie's Place

An organization providing shelter, food, clothing and dignity to homeless and poor women. Programs include serving lunch and dinner every day, an emergency shelter, permanent housing, advocacy, clothing, job training, a food pantry, and a food cooperative.

Boston Area Rape Crisis Center

Volunteers participate in hotline crisis counseling, adolescent and family services, support groups, medical support, legal advocacy programs and violence prevention education.
