CONGRATULATIONS TO THE INTERNATIONAL ASSISTANTS OF 2009-2010

Following a highly competitive and rigorous application/interview process, the IA Steering Committee has selected the incoming IA’s for the 2009-2010 academic year. The IA Program has been carried out for decades, and is a program that is most rewarding for all involved. The OISS and the IA Steering Committee extends a warm welcome and congratulations to the new International Assistants! We look forward to having you in our program, and to the many gifts you’ll bring to the relationships you build with BC international students.

2009 WORLD FIESTA DAY

On Thursday, April 16th the Office of AHANA Student Programs, along with many other co-sponsoring organizations and offices including OISS, hosted the annual World Fiesta Day. This event is known as the campus-wide international and intercultural event of BC and showcases over 30 offices, departments and student groups that reflect this aspect of the BC community and identity. The new International Club made its first appearance in World Fiesta and was featured in the Heights. Read the article.

International Students Graduation Reception
The Office of International Students and Scholars invites all to the Commencement Reception on Monday, May 18th 1:30-3:00pm in the Heights Room located in Corocoran Commons. We wish to congratulate all of our graduating students and wish them well in their future endeavors.

Learn what happens to your email and other computing services when you leave BC. Please remember to contact OISS with employer and personal address information if you are on OPT.

REMINDERS

Walk-in Hours Began Tuesday, April 21th. During the designated time slots, you will be able to get your immigration form signed immediately if you have all the required documents and forms completed. We hope that these hours will facilitate travel procedures for our international students and get answers to important questions.

Traveling outside the U.S.? Don't forget to get your I-20 signed! Read more about immigration information...
Moving? Please remember that all international students and scholars are required to report any change of address within 10 days of the change. Don't forget to change your address!
Register for classes for Summer & Fall Semester. Be sure you are enrolled for full time status. Read more about maintaining status. For assistance in registration, contact Student Services.
Optional Practical Training: If you are graduating this semester, please make sure to read the changes and apply for OPT by the deadline.

International Student Club: The purpose of the club will be to hold social events, educate about our countries, and work with OISS to make the international community at BC even stronger.
