Boston Health Care for the Homeless
This agency is committed to providing healthcare for individuals who are homeless. This opportunity may be of particular interest to nursing and pre-med students.

Casa Myrna Vazquez
Provides bi-lingual (English/Spanish) services and shelter to women and children who have been victims of domestic violence.

Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of Boston
Social service agency that serves poor, wooking poor, refugees, immigrants as they become part of an active community and a culturally familiar environment.

Citizen Schools
Tutoring and apprenticeships opportunities in Boston schools. Apprenticeships are an opportunity to share a subject or skill you are interested in with middle-school students. Training and help designing the apprenticeship are offered. 

Community Change Inc.
The center works for racial justice and equity. Resources include a library on racism and a variety of programs and events.

COMPASS School
The COMPASS School is a community based organization in Jamaica Plain that serves high risk inner-city children who have a history of behavioral, social and educational disabilities.

Cultural Survival
Promotes the rights, voices, and visions of indigenous peoples.

Soup kitchen, food pantry, and housing programs primarily serving homeless men and elderly individuals.

International Rescue Committee

The IRC works to provide necessary services for refugees around the world.

Internships

Irish Immigration Center
The IIC provides immigration and citizenship services to immigrants from around the world. Students interested in law school may be particularly interested in the IIC's monthly legal clinics. Volunteers may also be interested in their immigrant's rights community organizing efforts, contributions to the peace process in Ireland and Northern Ireland, and their anti-racism work in Boston.

Mayor's Office of New Bostonians
This program is run by the City of Boston to serve the needs of new immigrants to Boston.

Oxfam America
Agency works to find long-term solutions to poverty, hunger, and social injustice around the world.

Pine Street Inn 
The Pine Street Inn provides shelter and services to men and women who are homeless.

Rosie's Place
Rosie's Place provides shelter and services to women who are homeless.

Sabre Foundation
Distributes new books and other educational materials to support education, private sector growth, research and higher learning in Africa, countries of the former Soviet Union, the Balkans, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
