Co-Curricular Activities

Students must complete a total of four co-curricular activities, at least one of which must be a service activity.

Three Intercultural Co-Curricular Activities
Students participate in three distinct co-curricular activities that require a significant time commitment and have a strong international or multicultural theme. Co-curricular activities may be done at or through BC, around Boston, independent of BC, during school breaks, around the U.S., and abroad. Service activities may also fulfill the co-curricular requirements. Some examples of co-curricular activities include: an International Assistant, President of the Brazilian Club, and AHANA Leadership Representative. For further examples see Sample Activities.

Events and Lectures Option
In order to fulfill one of the three co-curricular activities students can attend five events or lectures that cover international and multicultural topics in one semester. Students must complete the Events and Lectures Checklist.

One Intercultural Service Activity
Following the Jesuit tradition of service, students are required to participate in at least one intercultural service activity of their choice. The service activity must require a substantial time commitment and it must have a strong international, intercultural, or diversity component.
