REQUEST FOR NEW I-20 OR SIGNATURE ON PG. 3 OF CURRENT I-20 F-1 STUDENT VISA
I. When requesting a new I-20 or a signature on pg. 3 of your current I-20 for travel purposes, please take note of the following:
All requests should be submitted to the Office of International Students and Scholars at least 1 week before you plan to leave the U.S. in order to allow time to review your records and process your request. Your I-20 will be available to be picked up in the Office of International Students and Scholars before the date you indicate you are traveling on the Request Form.
II. WHICH DO YOU NEED, A NEW 1-20? OR A SIGNATURE ON PG. 3 OF YOUR CURRENT 1-20?
A. NEW I-20
You will need a new I-20 if there has been a substantial change in your:
1. Source or amount of financial support
2. Degree, field of study, or school of enrollment
3. Graduation date *
*You only need a new I-20 if the graduation date indicated in #5 of the I-20 has already passed.
If there has been a substantial change in any of the above, please also bring in with this request relevant supporting documents (letter from department or school, financial certification, etc.)
B. SIGNATURE ON YOUR PG. 3 OF YOUR CURRENT I-20
If there have been no substantial changes, you can use pg. 3 of your current I-20 for travel purposes once it has been signed by the Office of International Students and Scholars . Once signed, pg. 3 is officially valid for one year from the date of the signature, although we recommend a new signature every six months.
NOTE TO GRADUATE STUDENTS: If you are receiving money from Boston College, please submit a copy of your letter of award for your tuition remission and/or graduate assistantship for 2003-04. If your award is similar to last year's, for example, if you received full support for 02-03 and are receiving full support for 2003-04, you can use pg. 3 of your I-20 for travel purposes once it has been signed.

3. Bring form and supporting documentation to the Office of International Students and Scholars.
