What is Freshman Welcome all about?
The Freshman Welcome Series is offered through the Office of the Dean for Student Development at Boston College. The main goal of Freshman Welcome is to foster a sense of community among freshmen within the very first weeks of school. Here is what other students have thought of the Freshman Welcome series:
"The best part of the Freshman Welcome Series was the movie in the Dustbowl. It was a great way to meet people and watch a good movie outside, enjoying the warm weather."
-Timothy Padulsky, CSOM ’09
"The Freshman Welcome Series was something to look forward to every night. I knew that each event would introduce me to more and more of my classmates, and the variety of the events made it all really fun."
-Vanessa Flavin, A&S ’09
"I had so much fun at the Lobsterbake. It was my first time eating lobster, and I got to share the experience—complete with lobster bibs—with my new friends and roommates."
-Nina Goldsmith, LSOE ’09
"Freshman Welcome is a great opportunity to meet as many people as possible. A good percentage of the class attends, and with such a wide variety of events—
a lobsterbake, movie night, etc.—you’re bound to meet an eclectic mix of people."
-Erika Vargas, A&S ’09
