Loyola University Press, 2009

In Heroic Living, best-selling author and former investment banker Chris Lowney combines the proven practices of Ignatian spirituality with his business expertise to help readers—regardless of calling, career, or current situation—discover their "mighty purpose" in life and develop a personal life strategy that helps achieve it.
By merging Ignatian spirituality with astute business knowledge, Lowney provides the tools and strategies needed to make practical, long-term life changes that move people away from their fractured, compartmentalized lives and toward the satisfaction and wholeness that each one desires so deeply.

George W. Traub, S.J.
An Ignatian Spirituality Reader
Loyola University Press, 2008

An Ignatian Spirituality Reader is a collection of short essays on Ignatian spirituality and its source, Ignatius Loyola. The eighteen essays are conveniently organized by theme. Editor George W. Traub, SJ, provides an introduction, suggested further readings, and a short glossary of key terms and concepts for each section.
The essays compiled here are written by a veritable “Who’s Who” of Ignatian spirituality experts (including Howard Gray, SJ; William A. Barry, SJ; Dennis Hamm, SJ; Ron Hansen; and many others). These essays will be of particular interest to those involved in all forms of Jesuit ministry, but also to any one to broaden his or her understanding of Ignatian practices and principles.

George W. Traub, S.J.
A Jesuit Education Reader
Loyola University Press, 2008

A Jesuit Education Reader is a collection of the best contemporary writing on the mission, challenge, and state of Jesuit education. Edited by George W. Traub, SJ, longtime director of Ignatian Programs at Xavier University, this anthology showcases the finest, recent short essays on Jesuit education.

The thirty-five offerings are divided into the following themes: the Principle Underlying the Early Jesuit Mission; History; The Current Problematic; Principles; The Issue of Catholic Identity; Ignatian/Jesuit Pedagogy; and Practical Applications. Fr. Traub introduces each section and provides suggested further readings on Jesuit education, as well as a glossary of key concepts. The Reader is designed foremost for those engaged in the work of Jesuit education—faculty, administrators, staff, and trustees; but those involved in other Catholic and Christian schools, or even those not engaged in formal education, are likely to find this collection engaging and valuable. The goal of A Jesuit Education Reader “is not merely acquiring information but assimilating it . . . for a fuller personal appropriation,” aiming to be not just useful, but also enlightening and inspiring.
