Important events/dates for 2011-12 arrupe programs (with trips during winter break 2011-12)

To participate in an Arrupe Program, with trips during winter break 2011-12, you must be present at each of the events below.  Note: dates and times may change.

SPRING SEMESTER 2011

• First Community Meeting: Sun. May 1 (time to be determined by each respective program’s student leaders). (Note: if you are studying abroad during the spring 2011 semester, you are not expected to be present).
• Kick Off:  Sun. May 1 at 5:30 – 8:30 pm.  (Note: if you are studying abroad during the spring 2011 semester, you are not expected to be present).

FALL SEMESTER 2011

• Each individual program’s Weekly Community Meeting (day and time to be determined by each respective program’s leadership team).
• PRE-TRIP RETREAT: Fri. Sep. 9, mid-afternoon, to Sun. Sep. 11, early afternoon.
• Presentation Series (dates and times to be determined).
  o Catholic Social Teaching: During the week of Sep. 18, evening.
  o Latin American History: During the week of Oct. 9, evening.
  o Globalization: During the week of Oct. 30, evening.
  o Seeing “the Other”: During the week of Nov. 20, evening.
• Commissioning Mass: Sun. Dec. 4 OR Sun. Dec. 11, late-afternoon/early evening (date and time to be determined).

WINTER BREAK 2011-12

• IMMERSION TRIPS: For 7, 8 or 9 days toward the end of winter break, departing some time after Jan. 1 (exact dates and times to be determined). 

SPRING SEMESTER 2012

• Each individual program’s Weekly Community Meeting (day and time determined by each respective program’s leadership team).
• POST-TRIP RETREAT: Fri. Jan. 27, mid-afternoon, to Sat. Jan. 28, 2012, evening, OR Fri. Feb. 3, mid-afternoon, to Sat. Feb. 4, 2012, evening.
• Presentation Series (dates and times to be determined).
  o Saying Yes to Life: During the week of Feb. 5, 2012, evening.
  o Living Justice: During the week of Feb. 26, evening.
  o Other presentations: Dates and times to be determined.
• Solidarity Projects: During the period mid-Mar. to early Apr. 2012.
• Arrupe Photo Exhibit: Fri. Apr. 20, 2012, late afternoon.
