Graduate & Professional Student Ministry

There is always something going on at Boston College, including options designed for graduate and professional students. Check out these oppprtunities and resources below.

Please feel free to contact Sister Mary Sweeney, Campus Minister for Graduate Students, with any questions or to request additional information:

Sun Script

Do you ever wish you were more attuned to the Sunday Liturgy? Graduate and professional students gather to read and to pray, discuss and to share the Sunday Scriptures for the upcoming Sunday.
Mondays, 1 PM in the Murray House. Join us for lunch!
Interested? Email Sister Mary to sign up.

Growing through Grief

Growing through Grief is a group for undergrad and graduate students who are grieving the death of a loved one.  This fall, we will gather on Mondays from 5 - 6:15 PM in the Service Building (located between Campion and Higgins).

Faith Sharing

Small groups for faith sharing form each semester.  If you are interested, email Sr. Mary.

Catholic, with Questions

Not studying theology but wish you knew more about your Catholic faith? There are many great articles that can expand your understanding of Catholicism.  If you'd like to get together with a small group of grad students to review Catholicism and look at various topics (liturgy, sacraments, morality, Bible, Catholic practices), email Sr. Mary.

Off-Campus Churches

Young adults have often found communities at St. Ignatius Parish Church at the corner of the campus, St. Cecelia's near the Prudential Center in the Back Bay, and Our Lady Help of Christians on Washington Street in Newton, near the Mass Pike.

Peace, Quiet and Prayer

Close your school week with 15 minutes of peace, quiet and prayer.  Just 15 minutes on Thursdays at 4 PM in Cushing Chapel, School of Nursing (second floor next to room 326). We will practice the Ignatian Examen on some days.

Visit The Volunteer and Service Learning Center for volunteer opportunities.

Catholicism and RCIA

Do you have questions about Catholicism? Are you thinking about becoming a Catholic? Are you interested in receiving the sacrament of Confirmation? There is a group meeting on Tuesday nights, from 7 to 9 PM. Email Sister Mary for more information.

Prayer! Holy Connections!!

For a boost in your prayer life, check out (sponsored by the Jesuits of Ireland) and (sponsored by the Jesuits in Britain).
