Information Technology Services at Boston College
Boston College ITS employs over 200 dedicated professionals whom are committed to making our technology work for you! We work hard to make BC a place where you can do your work with ease and have access to the latest in educational technology advances. The sections below outline the many ways you can get assistance with technology.
The Help Center
By Phone:
Help is only a phone call away! Call 617-552-HELP Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. to speak with a technology expert. If you need help outside of these hours, limited assistance is available at that number 24 hours a day; an ITS representative will log your issue so we can begin its resolution.
On Your Computer:
Visit the Help Center web site, 24-7. Just go to www.bc.edu/help. There you will find answers to common questions such as: "How do I setup my computer for the wireless network on campus?", "I want to backup my computer but don't know how?" You can also email questions to help.center@bc.edu or submit a technology help request at www.bc.edu/gethelp.
In Person:
Visit the Help Desk located in O'Neill 248, next to the
Campus Technology Resource Center.
The Campus Technology Resource Center
In addition, you may walk in to the excellent
Campus Technology Resource Center, commonly known as the CTRC. The staff there is comprised of savvy tech experts with a wealth of experience, and they are always eager to help. Located in O'Neill Library Room 250.
ResNet (Residential Networking)
ResNet Student Technology Specialists work in ITS to assist their fellow students with technology. ResNets will help you and your computer get connected during Back to School Weekend. ResNet students also coordinate and staff TechChecks, a convenient way to get help in your Residence Hall with technical problems such as activation of a personal computer on the BC network, phone activation, and cable TV set up.
The Computer Hardware Repair Service Center
The BC Computer Repair Service Center located in the Service Building on Lower Campus, services computers on-campus (whether they are purchased through BC or not).
