Film & Video Rental
Media Technology Services
Film Rental assists the Boston College community in locating films and videos for rental or purchase that are not available through the BC Libraries.
If you are looking to purchase a film that is not already owned by Boston College, the MTS Film Rental department can assist you in your research. Film Rental will also assist academic departments and student groups obtain Public Performance Rights for any public showings of copywritten feature films and/or documentaries.
If you would like to rent a film or video for any academic purpose or you are representing a student group that would like to show a movie in a public venue, your department/group needs to fill out the film rental request form. MTS will then research the film and attempt to find a distributor. If a distributor is found, MTS will contact you with the rental price of the film. Once the price is agreed upon, MTS will place the order(s) and confirm the rental information. Invoices are charged by the vendor to your purchasing card. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PROCESS CAN TAKE UP TO 30 DAYS TO COMPLETE.
You will be notified when your request has been received, and again when the film has arrived on campus. The film can then be picked up at the main office of Media Technology Services. Films must be brought back to Media Technology Services for return shipping to the vendor.
PLEASE NOTE THAT PUBLIC PERFORMANCE RIGHTS ARE REQUIRED FOR ANY PUBLIC VIEWINGS OF ANY COPYWRITTEN FILM OR DOCUMENTARY, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER BC OWNS A COPY OF THE VIDEO/DVD.
