Why Upgrade?
Boston College will be moving all email and calendaring to the Exchange environment. Because Outlook 2007 offers the best Exchange user experience, and the majority of students now use Office 2007 (or Office 2008 on a Mac), Information Technology Services has decided all Windows users will upgrade from Office 2003 to Office 2007. Additionally, the next version of Office (2010) is due out in 2010, and upgrading to Office 2007 will help prepare for that release.
Upgrades to Office 2007 will occur:
- Shortly before a department moves to Exchange, or
- When department receives new computers as part of BCCR (whichever event happens first).
