Sample of Current and Recent ITS Initiatives and Partner Projects
Information Technology Services is constantly working on new projects. Below is just a sampling of some of the projects.
Boston College Computer Replacement (BCCR)
Overseeing the systematic upgrade of all faculty and staff computers on campus, the BCCR program works to select new models of computers, as well as design and implement a process that makes the move from the old computer to the new computer as easy for the user as possible.
CampusTime
Information Technology is still introducing BC departments to CampusTime, a group calendaring application.
ITS Move to St Clements Hall
In October 2006 the Data Center that houses all of the ITS computer systems is moving to a new, state-of-the-art facility. On some of the move days, there will be service interruptions of email services, Agora, and other systems.
ResNet Program
A new program that utilizes student technology talent to provide in-house technology troubleshooting and advice to our students living in University residence halls.
University Core Systems
The University Core Systems Task Force has been charged with developing recommendations for an overall approach and for establishing priorities for replacing BC's student information systems with applications that are state-of-the-art and student centered.
Web Redesign & Collage Web Publishing System
An effort is underway to replace the current tool used to edit BC.edu web pages (WebIT) with an even easier to use Web Publishing tool that is entirely web-based. The new tool is from the company Serena, and the product itself is called Collage. The Web technology Group will help your department move its existing site into the new environment.
