The City

Puebla is among the most historic cities in Mexico as well as the gateway to the nearby mountains, and beautiful Pacific, Gulf, and Caribbean beaches. Convenient buses connect Puebla to Mexico City, which is a two hour bus ride away. It has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. The valley where Puebla is located ranks among the most important cultural areas of ancient civilizations. Arts and crafts, including famous and beautiful hand made tiles and pottery, churches and convents, markets and plazas all contribute to make this one of the most culturally creative centers on the continent.

The University

The Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA) Puebla has been the major Jesuit educational center after the metropolitan area of Mexico City. This university offers a small faculty to student ratio, individual attention, a comprehensive orientation program, and excursions. The Puebla campus has strong programs in communications, education, and political science and includes some twenty professional degree programs. Students have access to the university‚Äôs modern resources, including an impressive library, extensive laboratories, sports facilities, and computer service. 

The Program

The program of study at Iberoamericana campus in Puebla provides students with a full immersion experience in a small university. Students attend an early-start Spanish course and take regular courses (15 credit hours per semester) with Mexican students. Additionally, international students may enroll in a Mexican Culture and History course offering the opportunity to experience the tradition and beauty of the city and region.

Orientation & Academic support

The International Office on campus hosts an on-site orientation and provides comprehensive advising and personal services for BC students.


Students either live in homestays with Mexican families or in the newly constructed dorms located on the campus.


Students participate in many activities and excursions, including visits to museums, archeological sites, theater festivals, and concerts.
