Flood Family Travel Grants

office of international programs

The Flood Family Travel grants were established through the generous gift of the Flood Family to expand BC students’ access to study, intern, volunteer, and academic research opportunities abroad. Semester, year, or summer grants are awarded to BC undergraduates to cover tuition, fees, living expenses, and cost of travel to approved programs worldwide. Selection is based on leadership qualities and potential to gain tangible skills while meeting academic goals abroad.

Grants in the amount up to $2500 will be awarded each year, with preference to Boston College student-athletes who are in good academic standing.

A complete application will consist of a duly completed online application form, including a short essay question. Incomplete or late applications will not be reviewed.

Students will be informed of the outcome via email approximately 3-6 weeks after the deadline. Those awarded grants will be required to accept their awards online.

Students awarded the Flood Family Travel Grant will be asked to present a report upon return. Please note that any University grant amounts paid to students in excess of tuition & fees, and books are subject to state and federal tax. Flood Family Travel Grant recipients will be featured on the Boston College web site.

Questions can be directed to or Christina Hatzipetros. Students do not need to meet with a scholarships advisor at OIP in order to submit an application.
