The Advising Assistants stand ready to talk with you about general aspects of going abroad. We recommend that you schedule an appointment that fits your schedule. Please note that your appointment is not confirmed until you receive an email confirmation from the appointment system.

The Resource Room is open Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays from 10 AM to 5 PM and Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 AM to 4 PM. You can find program evaluations, program information guides, scholarship information, and other materials there.


Meet our advising assistants

Jill Forgash
Jill Forgash

Jill is pursuing a Master’s in Higher Ed Administration with a concentration in Student Affairs here at Boston College. She completed her undergraduate career at BC in 2011 (double eagle!) with a degree in Communications and French. During the spring semester of her junior year, she studied Art History and Communications at the Sorbonne in Paris, France. Jill’s semester abroad was a challenging, invigorating, and defining experience of her college career, and it wouldn’t have been the same without the invaluable support of OIP at BC. She looks forward to advising current students as they prepare to embark on their international adventures.

Laura Brond

Laura is pursuing a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, here at Boston College. She studied abroad in Paris, France, during the summer of 2011 while pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Economics at the College of William and Mary, and in Rome, Italy, during the summer of 2014 where she took a course on U.S. Students Abroad. She has also worked with international students in conversation partner and international orientation programs, and has traveled to Madrid, Normandy, Venice, Florence, and Cinque Terre. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to share her international experiences and is excited to be a resource for students planning their own study abroad adventures!

Justin Casale

Justin is pursuing a Master's degree in School Counseling at Boston College. He graduated from Muhlenberg College with a degree in Psychology and Education in 2013. In 2012, he had the opportunity to live in Florence, Italy and travel throughout Europe. These experiences, coupled with his counseling skills, have inspired him to advise prospective study abroad students. During his semester abroad, Justin traveled to the cities of Rome, Venice, Cinque Terre, Cagliari, Sorrento, Barcelona, Dublin, London, and Amsterdam. He looks forward to helping students select their ideal study abroad program.

JoAnn Lopez

This is JoAnn’s 8th year studying abroad! She is an international student from Singapore, and attended Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia where she studied Political Science and International Relations. As an undergraduate, she spent a semester abroad in Belgium, learning about and interning at the European Union. She served from 2011-2012 with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Houston, working with asylum seekers and refugees from all over the world, and is now pursuing a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) at BC’s School of Theology and Ministry. She is looking forward to working with Montserrat Coalition students and students applying for scholarships to help navigate the financial aspects of studying abroad. She has lived, studied, and worked in 6 cities across 3 continents so far, and is excited to be part of your study abroad journey.

Megan Kush
Megan Kush

Megan is a student at the School of Theology and Ministry, pursuing a Master of Divinity. While as an undergraduate at the University of San Diego, Megan studied abroad in Guadalajara, Mexico for two summer sessions, as well as Costa Rica for a semester, living with host families during each stay. When Megan isn't traveling, she enjoys engaging with the multicultural community that surrounds her.  The study abroad experience was one of the most pivotal moments for Megan during college. The perspective and experience she gained now informs her current studies and what she hopes to do in the future. Megan looks forward to working with students to prepare them for their upcoming study abroad experience.
