First time McGillycuddy-Logue Travel Grant recipients selected
We are proud to announce that thirty-six grants have been offered to students to participate in BC summer courses abroad in 2009 and twenty-four are offered to students who will study abroad on BC programs around the world in the fall semester of 2009, or for the full academic year 2009-10.
Eligible students are recipients of BC institutional financial aid and award amounts were based on need. The next application cycle is now open for students who will study abroad in Summer 2010.
2009-10 National Security Education Program (NSEP) Boren Scholarships
Nathan DuBois (A&S '11) has been selected to receive a Boren Scholarship. A total of 896 applicants competed for 130 awards in this year's David L. Boren competition. Eighty-six alternate candidates were also selected, among them another BC student, Kayleigh Dudevoir (A&S '11). Congratulations to all BC students who worked hard this past year in preparation for this very competitive award.
2009 ACC-IAC Scholarships awarded
For the fourth year in a row, the Office of International Programs announces six recipients of the Atlantic Coast Conference International Academic Collaborative (ACCIAC) International Scholarship Awards:
Summer 2009: Erika Hernandez (A&S '11) Buenos Aires, Argentina and Jeffrey Davis (A&S '12) "Catholics in Rome and America: Current Ethical Issues" in Rome;
Fall 2009: Patricia Moran (LSOE '11) BC in Madrid and Alexander Gilman (A&S '11) Centre for Buddhist Studies, Nepal;
Spring 2009: Jeffrey Skowera (A&S, '10) Al-Akhawayn University in Morocco and Christine Glaser (A&S, '10) University of Cape Town in South Africa.
The next application cycle is open for students who will study abroad in Summer 2010.

ACC International Academic Collaborative Scholarships
for all students going abroad on BC programs administered by the Office of International Programs (OIP), including summer programs. -
Advanced Study Grants in the Arts
to encourage, support, and give visible recognition to first- and second-year students who have that special spark of scholarly initiative and imagination, including summer "skill acquisition" projects that promise to accelerate dramatically the applicant's progress in the major field of study. -
Amanda V. Houston Traveling Scholarship
to further prepare BC undergraduates of African descent for leadership in the U.S. and in the world at large by enriching their personal and educational development through travel and/or participation in a recognized study-abroad program that earns at least 6 units of academic credit. -
Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program
for U.S. citizen undergraduates who receive a Federal Pell Grant and will study abroad for a semester, acadmeic year, or summer (check eligibility). Gilman is piloting a special Summer 2010 cycle for students majoring in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) field disciplines. -
Bridging Scholarships for Study in Japan
to assist students with travel and living expenses while studying abroad in Japan for a semester or an academic year. -
IIPP Fellowship Program in International Affairs
Sophomores, especially AHANA students, interested in public policy and global leadership. -
McGillycuddy-Logue Travel Grant
Students going abroad on BC programs, including summer, who receive BC institutional financial aid for the time they plan to study abroad. -
Morgan Stanley Scholarships for Study in Japan
for juniors and seniors interested in economics and international finance studying in Japan for an academic year. - National Security Education Program (NSEP) David L. Boren Scholarships
to encourage and support U.S. students of all years who wish to acquire proficiency and experience in less commonly studied languages and cultures through study abroad, post-undergraduate or graduate programs, summer programs included. -
Rotary Scholarships
both undergraduate scholarships and graduate fellowships to finance foreign study, application deadlines and availability vary by club.
