Role in the Office
Shannon manages the summer faculty-led programs and the summer internship programs. She works with both faculty and students on program development as well as summer programs applications and pre-departure.
Shannon holds a Masters of Arts in International Education from the School for International Training Graduate Institute (SIT). A California native, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of California, Santa Barbara. During college and after college, she studied and worked in London. While at Santa Barbara, she also participated in the UCDC program in Washington, DC for a quarter.
With many years of experience in both sides of International Education, Shannon worked as an International Student Advisor at both New York University as well as Boston University. She then made the switch to Study Abroad and most recently worked as a Program Manager at BU Study Abroad managing the London, Washington, DC, Los Angeles and San Francisco programs. In her first job out of college she worked at the English Language Program at UC Berkeley Extension and also has training experience in the technology industry.
Areas of Interest
As a first generation college student herself, she is interested in study abroad for first generation students. Her other interests include: study abroad opportunities for student athletes and underrepresented students as well as training new international education professionals through NAFSA's Trainer Corp.
