Application Deadline
Please be aware that BC summer courses are filled on a rolling admissions basis and have limited capacity. The application process is open October 1, 2009 – February 5, 2010.
Eligibility
Eligible students must be in good academic and disciplinary standing in order to participate.
Research Options
Our web site offers a wealth of information about specific summer programs in over 16 countries around the world. As the fall semester continues, new information will be added (i.e. costs, syllabi, etc.) so be sure to check back on a regular basis.
Meet with an Advisor
Prior to applying, students have the option of meeting with an OIP Advising Assistant, the Summer International Study Advisor, or attending a Discover Summer information session.
Steps to Apply
1. Send an email to summerabroad@bc.edu including your name, Eagle ID number, your first choice and an alternate choice of program.
2. Complete the online application
Within a week from the time that you have emailed OIP you will receive a link to the online application which you must complete. You will be asked to include a short (500 words) essay explaining why you would like to participate in the course of your choice. You can access the application with your BC name and password.
3. Meet with faculty leader(s)
As part of the application process, you need to contact the faculty leader(s) of your chosen course to setup a meeting. If necessary, OIP will help coordinate meeting times.
After Acceptance
Within a couple of weeks of applying, you will receive an official email notification of your acceptance to a BC program from OIP. The e-mail will include confirmation forms for you to sign and return to Hovey House. You will also receive information concerning the mandatory pre-departure orientation session and other course specific documents.
