Role in Office
As Associate Director for Finance and Administration, Ashley Jun is responsible for the financial management and maintenance of over 70 OIP programs and partnerships abroad. She builds, analyzes, and forecasts program budgets for academic year and summer programs, negotiates and renews Memoranda of Understanding, monitors exchange balances, renegotiates and renews the contracts of on-site coordinators and teachers abroad. She works closely with the OIP Director to develop strategic proposals, negotiate, implement and manage new partnerships with universities abroad. She also works closely with the university Budget Office and Controller's Office.
Education
Ashley Jun holds a B.A. in English Literature and Psychology from Yonsei University, South Korea, and a M.A. in Higher Education Administration from Boston College.
Administrative Experience
Prior to her appointment as Assistant Director in 2005, Ashley worked in various roles at the Office of International Programs. She served as an International Study Advisor, responsible for programs in Asia, coordinated the Freeman-ASIA Award, Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship, Bridging, and JASSO Scholarships for study in Japan. She also served as Office Manager, overseeing the business operations of the Office. Prior to that, she served as an intern in various administrative roles with the Boston College Career Center and with the Institute for Study and Promotion of Race and Culture (ISPRC).
Areas of Interest
Her professional interests include leadership programs, applying integrated planning, effective resource allocation, and decision-making. She is also very much interested in developing and promoting a healthy integration of productive work & family life effectiveness in response to the changing nature of such issues.
