Ramsay Liem collaborated with several artists, an historian, and a documentary film maker to create a multi-media exhibit of installation and performance art, documentary film, archival photographs, and oral histories that explores memories and legacies of the Korean War. The exhibit traveled around the country for several years, but because he anticipated the day when it would stop touring, he wanted to create an online version that would enable visitors to continue experiencing the exhibit even if it was no longer possible to view it person.

Funded by a Faculty Summer Workshop Grant, Liem worked with staff from Instructional Design and eTeaching Services to translate the physical exhibit experience into a web-based version. The website site combines images, text, audio, and video from the exhibit with lengthier written material from the catalog, offering a multimedia experience that users can explore from many different angles. Visitors can progress through the website in a order similar to the original exhibit, and all text is in both English and Korean side-by-side throughout the exhibit to reflect the bi-cultural nature of the subject matter. While not all the physical interactions provided by the exhibit could be re-created online, users can still interact with the site by leaving comments on installations, adding their thoughts on global conflicts to a map, and submitting their own story to grow the oral history collection.
