Windows
Please Note: ITS had been encouraging Windows users to upgrade to VirusScan 8.5i, but has decided to delay the upgrade campaign.
-
Although many upgraded successfully, a small percentage of people experienced a problem. ITS monitors security logs and has contacted the users who needed additional assistance. ITS is working with McAfee to ensure that all users can upgrade successfully.
-
Take the time to install any other pending updates, and check for new versions of "free" software (ITunes, Instant Messenger, etc.). Pay close attention to your Browser plug-ins.
Remember: The latest versions of software provide the best protection. Upgrading now will save you time later, since new versions prompt you when updates are available.
Mac
-
Use Software Updater to fix QuickTime 7.2 and other possible vulnerabilities.
