How to fix your broken ePO security tool

If you received notification from ITS that your ePO security tool is not working properly, follow the instructions below to fix your software.
Don't risk loss of network privileges. The fix is simple and only takes a few minutes to complete:
- Download the ePO reinstall/fix application to your desktop. When prompted, enter your BC username and password.
- Quit out of your Web browser and any other application you may have open.
- Access your VirusScan Console. From the Start menu, select: All Programs>McAfee (or Network Associates)>VirusScan Console. The VirusScan Console window will open.
- Check the status of your Access Protection. The status should read: Disabled (see Figure 1). If it is not Disabled, Right-click on Access Protection and select: Disable (see Figure 2).

- Go to your desktop and double-click on the icon named: Reinstall_epo (see Figure 3). This is the file you downloaded in step 1.

- Two windows will open and the application will begin to run (see Figure 4).

DO NOT CLOSE EITHER WINDOW. Both windows will close automatically when the TWO part process has completed. It will take a few seconds for each part of the application to run.
- After each part is complete, you will see a box indicating that: Setup completed successfully (see Figure 5). Click OK.

- The installation windows will close. The process is complete.

Tips for keeping your computer secure
- Whenever possible, set software to auto-update.
- Use the Secunia Software Inspector. This excellent security tool scans your computer and alerts you and assists you with any necessary updating. No installation or download is required.
