Showing the full message headers of an email
You might want to see the full message headers
of an email to report evidence of electronic abuse to abuse@bc.edu,
you must show the full message headers of the email when you forward it.

WebMail

To show the full message headers of an email using WebMail (
mail.bc.edu):
- Sign in to WebMail:
mail.bc.edu
- Open the email.
- In the upper-right of the message body, click "view source."
- To see the spam rating this email was given, look for the X's next to "X-SpamCatcher-Score."
- To forward an email with evidence of electronic abuse, copy & paste
the full message headers into an email, then forward it to abuse@bc.edu.
Outlook

If you are using Outlook, the full message headers are automatically shown
in the header of your email.
To see the spam rating of an email using Outlook:
- Open Outlook and log in.
- Open the email.
- From the View menu, select Options.
- Look in the Internet headers box at the bottom of the window.
- To see the spam rating this email was given, look for the X's next to "X-SpamCatcher-Score."
- To forward an email with evidence of electronic abuse, just forward the
email as you would any other email to abuse@bc.edu.
Entourage

If you are using Entourage, the full message headers are automatically shown
in the header of your email.
To see the spam rating of an email using Entourage:
- Open Entourage and log in.
- Open the email.
- From the View menu, select Internet Headers.
- To see the spam rating this email was given, look for the X's next to "X-SpamCatcher-Score."
- To forward an email with evidence of electronic abuse, just forward the
email as you would any other email to abuse@bc.edu.
Apple Mail

To show the full message headers of an email using Apple Mail:
- Open Apple Mail and log in.
- Open the email.
- From the View menu, point to Message and select
Long Headers.
- To see the spam rating of this email, look for the X's next to "X-SpamCatcher-Score."
- To forward an email with evidence of electronic abuse, just forward the
email as you would any other email to abuse@bc.edu.
Thunderbird

To show the full message headers of an email using Thunderbird:
- Open Thunderbird and log in.
- Open the email.
- From the View menu, select Message Source.
- To see the spam rating of this email, look for the X's next to "X-SpamCatcher-Score."
- To forward an email with evidence of electronic abuse, just forward the
email as you would any other email to abuse@bc.edu.
