Beware of clicking links in email or IM messages
Summary:  It's a good idea to get in the habit of opening a Web browser and typing the address for a Web site rather than click on the link in your email or IM message.

Why?

Scam artists are known to use fake links to "spoofed" Web sites to try to get your personal information. This is known as "phishing." (Pronounced "fishing.")

Phishing is when you receive an email that appears to be from a well-known company, but is actually attempting to steal your credit card numbers and other personal information!
