Adding a New Web Page into the Site Structure using Collage

web publishing

In this page:

Site Structure

The site structure is a hierarchical representation of a Web site's organization. Like a family tree, it presents the site in tiers and illustrates how different parts of the site are related to each other. An element in a site structure is referred to as a node (see Figure 1).
Figure 1.
Figure 1.

By using the Site view in Collage, you can:

  • Visualize the site hierarchy in a way different to the actual organization of the physical file.
  • Define relative relationships between site elements that can be used to build navigation functionality, using the components.
  • Group related assets together to simplify master page assignments.

Note:

  • You must have permission to access the Site view to perform these functions.
  • All new pages you create must be added into the site structure.
  • The level of a page in the diagram must match the location of the page in the folder hierarchy. Moving a node on the diagram does not move the page in the file folder listing. You shouild move the page to the correct location first, and then change the diagram to match.
  • Changing the order in which the page appears from left to right in the diagram, changes the order from top to bottom in the left navigation.
