Boston College is implementing Serena Collage to streamline the process of Web site creation and maintenance. Collage will replace WebIT as the new Web publishing system for Boston College. Benefits and features of Collage include the following:
- Enables Site Managers and content providers of varying skill levels a system for quick and easy edit of Web page content, thus meeting the goal of providing BC Web audience members with current information.
- A web-based system with a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) interface that does not require knowledge of HTML or other Web technologies. Collage is accessible via the Web from on or off campus.
- Does not require an additional HTML editor such as Dreamweaver. Collage separates the content from the design making it possible for non-technical people to actively maintain Web pages with little or no knowledge of HTML.
- Version tracking of Web pages allows publication of specified versions of the page.
Recommended Web browsers for use with Collage:
- Windows XP: Internet Explorer 6.0 and greater.
- Mac OS X: Firefox 1.5 and greater.
