To Create a New Page:
Note: Before creating a new Web Page do the following
- Determine how the page fits into the site structure and in which folder it belongs.
- Make sure that the navigation scheme is appropriate (i.e. users can find the page).
- Decide which template you should use
- Make sure you are in the Content Contribution view.
- Open the folder in the Project Pane (left pane) that you want to create a new page in.
- On the toolbar, click New Document.
- In the New Document window, do the following (see Figure 1):
- In the Name box, enter a name for the new page.
Note: Aim for page names between 8 to 16 characters. Page names should be all lowercase letters and numbers with no spaces and no special characters. To signify spaces use a hyphen. - In the Description box, enter a brief one to two sentence summary that helps users determine whether they want to visit the page.
- Click OK.

- In the Name box, enter a name for the new page.
- The new page will automatically check out to you and open.
To Create a new Folder for Child Pages:
- Make sure you are in the Content Contribution view.
- Open the folder in the Project Pane (left panel) that you want to create a new folder in.
- On the toolbar, click New Folder.
- In the New Folder window, do the following (see Figure 2):
- From the Folder Type drop-down menu, select Child Pages Folder.
- In the Name box, enter the Parent Page name.
- In the Description box, enter a brief description for the new folder.
- Click OK
