To enter Metadata:

Click the Metadata button on the toolbar (see Figure 1).

- In the Metadata window enter all information required (see Table 1).
Name Enter a name for the new page. Try to keep the page name between 8 and 16 characters; shorter is generally better. Page names should be all lowercase letter and numbers with no spaces and no special characters. Description Enter a brief description for the new page. The description will be used to create results from search engines. Start Date
Expiration DateIf you only want this page to be available on the Web for a specific time period: - From the Start date drop-down list, select the date to begin having the page available.
- From the Expiration date drop-down list, select the date to remove the page from the Web.
Global Nav If you want to turn off the BC global navigation that appears at the top of the page, select OFF. Hide Page in Left Nav If you don't want a page to appear in the left navigation, select Yes. Template Select a page template from the drop-down menu: - 1-LN-BC-1COL

Page Title Enter the title for the page. This text also appears in the Window title bar, in search engine result lists, as bookmark name, etc. The recommended format is:
Page specific title - site name - Boston College
For example:
Academic Programs - English Department - Boston CollegeNavigation Label Enter the word or short phrase to describe the page. Breadcrumb Label Enter the most important word or a short phrase to describe this page. Keywords Enter the words that users might enter into a search field when they are trying to find your page. Author Enter your name. Owner Choose the name of the group responsible for updating this page. Alias If there is an alias for this page, enter it in this box. Head Code Include additional code within the <head> tags. For example, to create an automatic redirect of the page, enter "<meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="0; URL=http://www.bc.edu/REST-OF-URL"> in this field.
