Installing BC UIS on a Windows computer

To install BC UIS on a Windows computer:

1. Click here to download BC UIS.
2. Save the file to your Desktop.
3. Follow the on screen instructions to complete installation.
   

To open BC UIS:

1. Select UIS from your Program menu or your Desktop.
2. To log in to BC UIS (see Figure 1), enter your BC username and password and press <ENTER>:

Installing BC UIS on Mac OS X

Important: Currently, there is only a beta version of BC UIS for Lion (OS X 10.7). If you want to test this beta version, please following these instructions: To install a test version of BC UIS on Lion (OS X 10.7):

1. Click here to download a BETA TEST VERSION of BC UIS for Lion (OS X 10.7).
2. Save the tn3270 X 3.3b6.dmg file to your Desktop.
3. Double-click the tn3270 X 3.3b6.dmg file.
4. A dialog box displays. In the Host Name field, type uis.bc.edu
5. Click Open Connection.

To install BC UIS on Mac OS X (Snow Leopard and below):

1. Click here to download BC UIS.
2. Save the BC_UIS_Installer.dmg file to your Desktop.
3. Double-click the BC_UIS_Installer.dmg file: 
4. Double-click BC UIS: 
5. Double-click BC UIS Installer: 
6. Click Continue.
   
7. Click your hard drive (Macintosh HD / Power HD) and then click Continue.
   
8. Click Install.
   Note: You may need to enter your Administrator password.
   
9. Click Close.
   BC UIS is installed in the Applications folder on your computer.
10. On your Desktop, delete the BC_UIS_Installer.dmg file and eject the BC UIS drive.

To open BC UIS:

1. In your Applications folder, double-click the BC UIS icon: 
2. To log in to BC UIS (see Figure 8), enter your BC username and password and press <ENTER>:
