Activities and Advocacy
Grads Give Back
This annual event sponsored by the Office of Graduate Student Life, GSA, and Law Student Association aims to engage graduate students with the Boston community through a weekend of service activities.
This graduate student colloquium, inspired by Ted Talks, creates an avenue for graduate students to share their passions. These short presentations may be about research, lessons learned in leadership, an experience abroad, or any other topic which the presenter believes would benefit the BC community. The goal of this event is to encourage dialogue about academic and life passions which inspire students.
Grad Appreciation Week
Cosponsored by the GSA and GSL, Graduate Student Appreciation Week aims to show our students just how much we care about them. This annual series of events aims to provide social, educational, and service experiences that will advance the sense of graduate community on campus.
Resources for Graduate Student Parents and Families: The GSA realizes that many graduate students juggle various personal, professional, and academic roles. We maintain a "clearing house" of resources on campus and in the greater Boston area related to the needs of children and parents. We are also committed to providing family-friendly programming and creating opportunities for grad student parents to connect with one another.
- Welcome Month - Each September we plan such events as a Boston Trolley Tour, free barbecue, and group attendance at a BC football game in order to welcome grad students to BC.
- Grad Orchard Outing - In October we take grad students on our annual trip to a New England orchard to enjoy autumn the best way we know how!
- Finals Stress Relief - Did someone call for the de-stress express? Be on the lookout for massages, giveaways, zumba, fuzzy animals and free food each December and May during finals time.
- Other Events - During the 2012-2013 academic year we brought you such programs as Grad Hockey Night, Conversation with a Jesuit, Halloween Howling Hour, and Grad Night Out at Fuel America. Have ideas for other events you'd like to see? Feel free to contact the GSA Director of Programming!
