Preparing for Orientation
First Year Experience
Please bring a personal laptop or tablet for use during advising and registration sessions. If you are unable to bring one, a laptop will be provided for your use during those times.
We suggest you bring the following items to Orientation: watch, alarm clock, casual clothes, comfortable walking shoes, sweater or jacket, umbrella, personal toilet supplies, notebook, and pen and pencil.
Towels, a pillow, and bed linens will be provided in the residence halls for Sessions 1-6. Students attending Session 7 will move directly into their assigned fall housing and are expected to bring all room accessories.
We also require that you bring the Academic Planning Workbook and the University Course Catalog (both of which will be mailed to first-year students in mid-May). The only foreign language offering an on-campus placement exam is Spanish. Students who need to take this exam should plan to check-in at Hillside Cafe by 10:30 AM on the Sunday of their orientation prior to checking in for orientation at 12 noon. Additional details will be posted soon.
We will send you detailed information about check-in and parking with your session confirmation notice.
