January Transfer Students
First Year Experience
January Orientation welcomes Boston College’s first year and transfer students to Chestnut Hill and introduces them to campus life and university resources. During Orientation, students will also meet with an academic advisor and register for spring semester classes.
The 2018 January Orientation will take place on Thursday, January 11 and is mandatory for all newly enrolled undergraduate students. On Friday, January 12, the Office of First Year Experience will offer optional half-day trips into Boston led by upper-class Orientation Leaders. These trips include a visit to Faneuil Hall Marketplace, the Boston Common Frog Pond (ice skating), Eataly Boston at the Prudential, and Newbury Street. Further details on these optional trips will be provided during the first week of January.
New undergraduate students who are accepted and enrolled at the university will be automatically registered for January Orientation and able to move into their residence hall on Wednesday, January 10. Please note that students attending January Orientation should plan to move into their housing placement on this date, as the Orientation program will start around 9 AM on the 11th. Please contact the Office of Residential Life at 617-552-3060 with housing questions.
