Compass Mentoring Program
A collaboration between First Year Experience and the Center for Student Formation
The Compass Mentoring Program aims to provide supportive communities for incoming first-year AHANA+ students. Led by upperclass Mentors, the Compass program will engage first-year students beginning with an overnight retreat weekend early on in their fall semester and continuing through weekly small group meetings, and social events.
Compass participants will receive guidance and gain insights about how to navigate their first semester of college, as well as be exposed to important campus resources. Co-ed small groups consist of two upperclass Mentors and 8 first-year students. Above all, first-year students will be able to develop friendships and gain a strong sense of community at BC.
Applications for Compass participants
will open Summer 2018.
The Compass application is on a rolling basis.
For more information, please make sure to attend
the Compass Info Session during your Orientation weekend.
Compass Participants will commit to:
- Attending the Compass Overnight Retreat (September 8-9, 2018 / Sat-Sun)
- Attending weekly small group meetings throughout the Fall Semester
- Attending bimonthly Compass events
